Curriculum Night
Parents of 1st – 5th Grade students join your teachers, in their classroom beginning at 5:30pm tonight.  Teachers will share information that will make this school year successful, including some changes from last year.  We look forward to seeing you tonight as we begin the school year with a R-O-A-R-I-N-G start!

Join the HG Band! (4th & 5th Grade Elective)
The instrumental music program at HGCS develops in students an appreciation and
understanding of music, allowing them to glorify God through their musical instruments.

Step 1: Sign up at hgchristian.org/HGBand

Step 2: Acquire an instrument!
      Instrument Rental Night in the band room Monday, August 22th (5:30 - 8PM). It will take       about 10-15 minutes (the meeting is drop-in). This event will be hosted by Howren Music       (Park Rd. Shopping Center)  You will be asked to make a rental deposit to secure      
      delivery of your child’s instrument.  There are book requirements and accessory 
      options. All rental payments apply to the purchase price. If you cannot attend the rental         meeting and are in need of an instrument please contact taylorcaton@hgchristian.org           for more information.

      Step 3: Practice and attend our concerts!
      We will perform two concerts year. Dates and times are coming soon! 

Lunch

If you send in money with your student to purchase a lunch, only cash is accepted.  Change will not be given.  Any extra money will be added to your child's lunch account.  Checks are not accepted.

The AAA Booster Club is proud to present the Hickory Grove Christian Spirit Store!

For your convenience and ease of ordering, HGCS apparel has moved all spirit wear sales online! Apparel will no longer be sold in person at the school so be sure to order all of your spirit wear while the online shop is open.

Please ensure you place all orders by Wednesday September 7th at midnight. Orders will be individually packed and delivered to HGCS within 3 weeks of the store closing date.

·         All students must have a completed Student Authorization Form to begin school.  Those forms are now due.  Link to form: SAF Form  Complete and return to the Elementary Office by email, nancymcdowell@hgchristian.org or drop off with receptionist.

Lunch

Bus

Before/AfterSchool
  • Sign up your student for Before/Afterschool by completing the registration form and return to the School Finance Dept.  Here is a link: Before/Afterschool Registration
Tardy Students
  • Tardy Kindergarten students (only) will be signed in at the Main School Office located on the 1st floor of The Education Center.  All other students will be signed in at the Elementary Office on the 3rd floor of the floor of the Children's Center.
Early Dismissals
  • All students will be signed out of school early, will be signed out from Elementary Office unless contacted by the nurse in the Health Room.

Student Authorization Forms

New Student Parent Orientation Meeting
·         If you have a new student, a mandatory new parent meeting will be held on Thursday, August 11, at 9AM.  You will have an opportunity to hear from our Head of School and School Administration.

·         Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten parents, this is an adult only meeting for you.  After the 9am meeting, you will meet with your student’s teacher and received valuable information regarding the entire school year.  This will take the place of the Curriculum Night Meeting scheduled on August 22, for elementary parents.  Please bring school supplies with you on 8/11.

·         First – 5th Grade parents, your student should attend with you.  While you are meeting, students will have a time of orientation with their teachers.

Back to School Bash
·         Attend the “Back to School Bash” on Monday, August 15. Visit classrooms, meet your teacher, and bring school supplies.
Back to School Bash Schedule:
4:00 – 5:30pm    Meet the Teacher
5:30 – 6:00pm    All School Assembly in Worship Center
6:15 – 7:00pm    Meet and Greet at Soccer Field (Free Admissions)
