Week of October 21, 2019




Operation Charlotte begins on Monday, October 21, 2019. This week is a week designated to serve our Charlotte communities. Students from ALL grades will serve in places such as our HG Food Pantry, Taylor Glen, Brookdale Retirement, Hospitality House, and many more. One of the major events that week is, of course, our Feed the Need Packing Party on Tuesday, October 22nd. If you are willing to volunteer at the packing party, please sign up here.

Week of October 7, 2019




Half-Day Dismissal
On Wednesday, October 9th, students will be dismissed at 12:00 noon.  Students may attend Adventure Day even if they are not registered for After School/Adventure Days.  You must complete all the appropriate paperwork before. There is a charge for 1/2 day Adventure Day if you are not signed up through the After School to include these days.

All students should be picked up in the carline or have Adventure Day reservations. The bus will leave for the Mallard Creek Campus after the 12:00 dismissal.

Lunch will be served at the regular lunchtimes for Elementary and Middle School students.



FALL BREAK
October 10 & 11 is Fall Break.  Students enrolled in Afterschool can attend.  Students not enrolled in the Afterschool program may enroll for Adventure Days through Victoria Henderson in the Business Office.  There is a charge for Adventure Days.

All students are welcome to participate in the Morning Mile from 7:00 - 7:30 am in Gym C.  No minimum number of laps and students can join anytime.  There is no charge to participate.


Our summer collection drive for Box Tops has ended.  Unfortunately, we did not get much participation.
We will continue to collect Box Tops For Education throughout the school year.  Our next collection date will be on January 22nd.
There are two ways to collect box tops either by clipping them off the package or scanning your receipt into the Box Tops app.

The following students turned in box tops and will receive a free Chick-fil-a sandwich.

Spirit Week
September 23-27 is Spirit Week at HGCS.  Elementary students may dress on the designated day the theme selected for the school. Those who choose not to participate should follow the Uniform Dress Code.




Spirit Week Parade
We invite all students to participate in the Parade on Friday, September 27 at 1:30 pm located in the FLC parking lot. If you are available to help decorate, contact TimishaBrynildsen@hgchristian.org

Feed the Need Fall Fundraiser
Join us this Thursday, September 19th at 6:30 pm in the Event Center for the Kick-off Parent Night of Feed the Need Fall Fundraiser.  Parents of students who attend will receive an incentive reward for their attendance.  We look forward to a great Fund Raising event. You are the key to the success of the program.

Box Tops for Education
Send in Box Tops collected over the summer by Wednesday, September 18.  The format has changed for collecting Box Tops for Education.  No more clipping, just download the App and follow the instructions.


It's time to send in your Summer collection of Box Tops for Education.  Our school earns 10 cents for each Box Top submitted.  We will give out prizes to the students submitting the most Box Tops in each grade level!  Box Tops are due by Sept 18th.  The student's name and grade should be written on the bag/envelope and given to your homeroom teacher.  High School students turn them in at the High School office.
A new way to save...get the Box Tops for Education App.  Traditional Box Tops are being phased out of production but may continue to be found on many products.  Just scan your store receipt and our school will be credited online.  Forward a copy of your confirmation email to yjkj4him@carolina.rr.com and designate your child's name for contest credit.
You can earn Box Tops for our school if you shop online at the following places:

  •      Target pickup/drive up

  1) Make sure you have a Box Tops for Education account. (via app or website)

  3) Box Tops will be credited within 10 business days - view your earnings detail in the My Earnings section of the app.
