Week of September 23, 2019





Spirit Week
September 23-27 is Spirit Week at HGCS.  Elementary students may dress on the designated day the theme selected for the school. Those who choose not to participate should follow the Uniform Dress Code.



Spirit Week Parade
We invite all students to participate in the Parade on Friday, September 27 at 1:30 pm located in the FLC parking lot. If you are available to help decorate, contact TimishaBrynildsen@hgchristian.org.

All students are welcome to participate in the Morning Mile from 7:00 - 7:30 am in Gym C.  No minimum number of laps and students can join anytime.  There is no charge to participate.

Elementary Spring Musical/Art Fair
Thursday, March 21 is the Spring Musical and Art Fair.  Student artwork will be displayed in rooms near the Welcome Center and can be picked up before or after the Musical. Registration: 2nd-Grade to Schiele Museum
The 2nd-grade field trip to Schiele Museum is March 28.  To register your 2nd-grade student, click on this link: https://hgchristian.brushfire.com/events/451735  Deadline to register is March 17.


Mother/Son Event
The Mother/Son Event is on March 22 at 6pm at Kate's Skating Rink on Independence Blvd.  The cost is $10 per person, everyone pays at the door.  (Details to follow.)

Re-enrollment for Current HGCS Parents
The 2018-2019 Re-enrollment instructions for current students will be added to the Renweb announcement page on November 1 and will run through January 31, 2018.  If you have any questions, regarding re-enrollment, please contact the admissions office at 704-531-3589.

3rd Grade to Ovens Auditorium
Register students to attend the onstage presentation of Freedom Train on Thursday, Feb 15.  Deadline to register is Sunday, February 11.  https://hgchristian.brushfire.com/events/441684

Student Security
Student Security is important at HGCS.  Therefore, carline tags should be displayed in vehicles for student pick-up in the afternoon.  This applies to Main Campus carline, or North Campus bus carline pick-up.  If you need additional carline tags, please contact the Elementary Office.  Additional carline tags are available for parent pick-up.

Student Absences
If your student is absent for any reason, please email the teacher and the Elementary Office, NancyMcDowell@HGChristian.org.  Remember to follow the CDC Guidelines when your student is not feeling well.  Students should be free of the following for 24 hours before returning to school: fever of 100 degrees or more, vomiting or diarrhea.  For attendance records to be accurate, please email the Elementary Office each day your student is not in class.
